A compound sentence consists of two or more independent clauses joined together. Each clause has equal importance and can stand alone as a complete sentence.

- Incorrect: I love reading, it relaxes me.

- Missing comma: Forgetting the comma before the conjunction

- Unequal clauses: Combining an independent clause with a dependent clause
